Hi Alois

i have just watched this video.

With long pimples on my backhand is this still possible?

And if so, what might I need to adjust?

Thanks!

Hi Geoff,

The Backhand Sidespin Flick isn't ideal with long pimples as you need friction on the racket to be able to execute the shot.  The long pimples don't provide that friction.

With the long pimples you are better to push through the ball and counteract the spin on the ball.  This can work well when they serve with backspin or sidespin.  It will be more difficult with topspin as the reversal of the spin will send the ball towards the net.
