i just recently saw ur "3 ways to counter slow spinny topspin" i really found the methods very useful!

but it would also be useful to know how to perform the spinny slow topspin. i try with my forehand side but it hardly ever lands on the table and as for backhand, i dont know the stroke

can u plz give me any advice on what i may be doing wrong on forehand and how i can attempt 1 of those from my backhand side?

Hi Shripathi,

To make a slow spinny topspin you need to have quite a vertical stroke and really just touch the ball on contact.

You can vary the height of the ball over the net to make it unpredictable.  You can get it to fly low over the net or higher.  The low ball is an awkward ball to counter but the higher ball can also be difficult in the right circumstance.

It is usually easiest off a heavy backspin ball where you can brush the ball upwards.

The principle is the same for the backhand slow topspin.
