Hi Pingskills,
I am trying to pick up the skill of reading the spin of a ball and service return. I understand how the ball spins, but my question is that should you go against the spin of the ball or follow the spin of the ball? For a topspin ball, I am going against the spin of the ball as I am decreasing the angle of my bat. For a backspin ball, I am also going against the spin of the ball as I am pushing the ball. But for sidespin, I don't know which is safer, going against or with it. Could you help me with this? Thanks
Hi Stefan,
For sidespin you need to angle your bat to counteract the spin on the ball. If the ball is going off to your right when you hit it, then you need to angle your bat to the left and vice versa.
