What do you think of short wide serves?

Hi Jasper,
They can work however, it also opens up the wide angle for your opponent.
Think about more central serves initially to ensure that your opponent doesn't have the angle to play with.

Tactics Against A Defensive Chopper
A chopper likes to get back from the table and get into a nice rhythm. If you keep the defender close to the table in the early part of the rally, it's hard for them to transition back into their chopping position. Occasionally i serve short and wide, cutting the opponent's sideline. Somehow it feels difficult to return by my opponents

It's good. My opponents always have to reach for the ball but during the rally they are just too powerful. I was the umpire of the finals match. At the end there was cake that has an image of 2 bats and a ball.
