Serving
Hi Mr.Rosario i am a newcoming to table tennis i started when i was in six grade . I saw your videos and it inspired me to do the reverse pendulm top spin, sidespin and the backspin serve, but when i play games in tournaments i always get knocked out in the 1st round and i didnt do my serve because i felt that i will miss the ball on the table when i serve it . how can i get over the fear of serving and missing the table.
Hi Selcon,
This is a very natural thing to happen to players.
All yo need to do is keep practicing the serve and getting more confidence in it. This will come with some more time. Don't rush, you are doing well with it.
In training, see how many serves you can get on in a row. Then see if you can start to place the ball where you want it to go on the table. You can put some targets on the table and try to hit them. As you get more consistent with your serve and start to hit the targets you can then start to try them in a match. If you are playing any practice games or games where you are against a weaker opponent, then try to use the serves there as well.
