Strokes
When playing against a defensive player, I have noticed that when I try to attack it with my forehand topspin, it goes into the net. So, I have tried to lift the ball a bit more to get it over the net but when I do this the ball goes out. How can I get the balance between the two? And what is the best way to deal with players who put a lot of backspin on the ball?
Thanks,
Nick
Hi Nick,
Getting the balance between spin and speed is difficult. You need to make sure you are getting lots of topspin on the ball by brushing the ball. If you are getting good topspin then you can lift the ball fast to get the ball over the net. The topspin will then bring the ball back down onto the table.
If you are not getting topspin on the ball when you lift it it will keep going and off the table.
