I see this question was posed 5 years ago, but I happen know the answer to this.

My grandfather, Per Hestbek, owned the company DBC - Dansk Bordtennis Center - and was the designer, creator, and manufacturer of all DBC bats. All the bats were made in a suburb of Copenhagen by his hands.

He made bats in the 1980s and 1990s, and closed down shop in the mid to late 90s when he retired.

He gifted me a bat when I was a young child (that I greatly abused) - I still have it now, 25+ years later; here's a pic of it: https://imgur.com/a/D5DUbhu

The maker of your dad's bat truly loved ping pong. He died a few years ago at 82 years old.

Hi Ida,

How interesting and how lovely to hear from you.  Your dear grandfather must have loved what he did.  That is so special.

I hope Ian is still on the site and gets this message.  If someone knows I'm please let him know.
