I think when Ma Long does a topspin or a loop, he uses his wrist not much at all, but his topspins or loops are very spinny anyway. So where he got the most spin?Β

Hi Lukas,

He gets a lot of his spin by the brushing contact on the ball and the speed of his forearm. Β He does though also get a bit of wrist movement. Β If you are able to slow the stroke down you will see a whipping action at the start of the stroke.

For the smash change the angle and flatten out the contact to get the ball moving faster.
