Hi pingskills,

When long pushing, should I push the ball early off the bounce or late and on top of the ball?

Hi Eugene,

You can do both.  I like to get the ball earlier off the table to give your opponent less time.  If you wait till the ball is higher, it is easier to generate more speed from the higher hitting point but you have also given your opponent more time to see what is coming.

But don't taking the ball early be more inconsistent?

It is a little more difficult but also more difficult for your opponent.
