Hi coach ,

I watched your lesson on backhand topspin against backspin. I tried the same thing but the ball goes into the net every time. I'm judging the backspin on the ball, using my wrist and concentrating in speed. i just dont understand what I'm doing wrong. Can u help me in any way.

Secondly, when i get a very loose and a neck-high ball i try to smash it but it goes out most of the time. What is the correct timing to perform the stroke and please tell me what i am doing wrong.

Also,i need help for the correct  timing of backhand topspin against backspin.

Thank you so much

Your lessons have really really helped me regain my form after  a long break. I'm really grateful.

Hi Utkarsh,

Thanks for your kind words about the lessons.

For the backhand topspin against backspin, try more racket head speed or make sure your rubber has grip.

Wait for the ball to come closer to you.  You can hit the ball at the top of the bounce or wait a little longer till it is dropping slightly.

Take a look at our lesson on the Forehand Smash for help with this stroke.  One of the main things that I see is that players don’t give themselves enough space to make the smash.  Use the time while the ball is in the air to prepare yourself to make the smash.
