Training
Hi Pingskills,
To start, I would like to say thank you for your great website. I have been looking for a practice partner for a long time now. I have finally found one and he is left handed. My question is about how we should train together. For example, if we wanted to do forehand to forehand, should we do forehand to backhand, should we do forehand to forehand down the line or should be do forehand to forehand but one of us stands in the different corner.
Thanks
Unrelated question: I don't mind if Jeff doesn't answer this because it's not really table tennis related. I saw on your Ask the Coach Show that Jeff was at the Melbourne Autumn Cube Competition. I just wondered if he saw Feliks Zemdegs (the world champion for 3x3) because I know Feliks was there and Pingskills and Feliks are my idols so it would be nice if Jeff saw him. Sorry for this unrelated question, I will understand if Jeff doesn't have time to answer.
Hi Dima,
I am glad that you are enjoying the site.
Practicing with a left hander you can do Forehand to Backhand and vice versa. You could also have one person standing around the corner and do forehand to forehand. Most of the time we do forehand to backhand.
Regarding the Cubing, yes Jeff did meet Feliks which he was pretty excited about. Imagine that, Jeff and Feliks in the one room!
Being able to play a third ball attack from both wings is a huge step in your development. It means that your opponent has no safe place to push the ball long. This week we ask you to perform a number of match drills that require you to play third ball attacks from either side.
