how to improve my chopping

hello there ive been using a short pimple rubber in chopping. . can you give me some tips on how to improve it because sometimes the ball flies after ive chop it

Hi Sean,

It is like any other stroke and rubber, it will take time to gain the control.  You need to do the stroke as many times as possible.  It s probably more relevant with the push or chop because it is all about getting the angle of your bat correct.

If you have just moved from inverted rubber, it will be an adjustment period before it feels natural.

Forehand Counterhit

The forehand counterhit or forehand drive is the foundation for more attacking strokes such as the forehand topspin or forehand loop. There are 3 critical factors:

  1. Your feet position
  2. Your start position
  3. Your finish position

If you concentrate on these 3 factors then your stroke will become extremely consistent. Once you can reliably hit 100 balls in a row then you are ready for more attacking strokes. If you can hit 1,000 balls on in a row then you know you've truly mastered the stroke.
