Strokes
I´ve got the problem that with my hard and fast topspins the ball often doesn´t curve much and goes out of the table. It seems that I don´t get much spin on the ball. My training partner says, that I´m "overhittung" the ball. What does that mean and what can I do?
Hi Manfred,
It sounds like when you try to hit the ball faster you are hitting it too flat. You need to generate topspin so that the ball will dip down on the table. The key is in the contact. You need to ensure that you have a brushing contact on the ball.
If you feel that your stroke is good but the ball is still going out, you can try closing the angle of your bat more on the contact. This will help you generate the topspin.
Let me know if this helps you out.
