Hi there coach, I just wanted to ask about the key principles of the forehand counter topspin. I would like to know how would I prepare to execute the stroke and the timing. I would also like to know how would I be able to apply it in a match play where the ball is fast and has no direction? thanks in advance

Hi Wayne,

Firstly look at the lesson we have on the Topspin to Topspin.  Then in a match situation you need to be able to track the ball well so that you pick up as early as possible where the ball is coming.

As far as the timing, you can hit it early if you pick it up early or late if you want to change the pace.  Ideally try to hit it at the top of the bounce for the safest option.
