Hi Bharat,

To hit the ball with good speed try to get the bounce close to you on your side of the table.  Initially try to hit the ball really fast even if it goes off the end of the table.  You will find this quite difficult.  Most of them will still go too short.  Once you start to be able to hit them long off the end of the table then you can think about slowing down a little.  Until you are hitting a few long keep swinging faster.

Penhold is no different to shakehand here.  It may even be a little easier.
