I have old racket (for beginners) which costs 20  USD. Now, it is not sticky ,I can't brush with it enough now. I like its wood.  Is it possible to change  its rubber?

Hi Ardak,

The wood needs to be of a reasonable quality.  Most blades are quite good, even a lot of the premade blades.  It is worth a try.

Tone is in Your Fingers

There's is an old saying about guitar playing - tone is in your fingers. And If you've ever seen a really good guitarist play an old guitar then you'll understand how true that saying is. I know we go on a lot about this topic but it is so true. Once you've got yourself a decent bat, it's no longer up to the equipment, it's up to YOU!

Also, is it important to play with racket with good quality(expensive rackets like stige or something else, or it is better to say them professional rackets, I don;t know), to be used to play with it.

Or it is enough to play with any racket for beginners?

Hi Ardak,

It is important to have a basic level of bat.  The bat should have flat rubber with some sponge under the rubber.  The surface of the rubber should have some grip on it.  We have the PingSkills Rook as our basic level bat.

Thanks for sending the pics through.  Just having the Tenergy on the new blade will be a big difference.  The Tenergy may be too fast for you.  Give it a few weeks of practice and see whether you can get used to it.  Otherwise you could keep the new blade and just put some slower rubbers on it.  This will allow you greater control.  he rubbers we recommend are Mark V to start with.

Are you saying that my racket will be too fast for me , because its rubber is Tenergy? Doesn't it depend on ots wood?Untill now,  I thought that  speed  depends on the wood. So,  changing the rubber will help.  Did I understand correct?(Sorry for my bad english)

I have played with new racket for a month and I have played only with that racket, it is getting better but I couldn't get used to it completely. In other words, I still can't feel myself comfortable like with  my old racket. Are you suggesting to me two more weeks?  (Sorry for my bad english)

What can you say about old racket? Thank you !

Hi Ardak,

The speed is dependent on both the blade and the rubber.  In this case because you are using such a fast rubber you will really feel it.  So changing your rubber will help.

Yes, I would give it 2 more weeks just to see if you can get used to it.  This will save you some money if you can.
