Buying a new racket

Hi guys,

I'm about to buy a new racket. The racket I have now (Alexis Lebrun straight All+ with Rakza 7 rubbers). feels very slow compared to my teammates, who have carbon blades. When I hit with my forehand, the ball doesn't go very fast, which is why more advanced players have time to return it.

I'm now thinking about buying the Carbon blade, Tibhar hybrid ac inside, with MX-P on the forehand, and Evolution EL-P on the backhand. What do you think about this? The blade costs 1,400 SEK. Is there perhaps something a little cheaper, that is similar?

Hi Jorgen,

Good question. Short answer: your proposed setup (Tibhar Hybrid AC Inside + MX-P FH + Evolution EL-P BH) will definitely give you more speed and punch than a non-carbon all+ setup, but it will also demand cleaner timing and reduce your margin for error.

I would just replace the rubber first to see if it gets you to where you want to.  I would also try a lot of the other players rackets and see if there is something that you particularly like.
