Wider forehand topspin

Strokes

Hi coach,

I have quite long hands and I get to a forehand loop, not like in your video( 90 degrees

angle). It is very wide almost like swinging your arms to the side of your body.

It bothers me because I don't get enough topspin. This shot is weird to my coach,he says usually people don't use it. Is it normal?

Can you put up a video to demonstrate how to do this shot better,if it is useful?

If not please explain it carefully thank you very much(sorry about my horrible english)

My best wishes,

Daniel

Hi Daniel,

Sorry, I am not sure of the type of stroke you are talking about.

Do you mean that you are not bending your elbow through the stroke?

I mean for example starting with 135 degrees angle between lower and upper arm and than start the motion,I bend my elbow, but not so much as the standard shot. I hope you got it this time... :-)

I think you should work on more bend in your elbow through your stroke. That is where you generate some more topspin and speed. The upper arm can't move fast enough to get enough speed for your shots.rnrnI would work on getting the right finishing position with the 90 degree bend in your arm.
