I often see players changing the side of their rubbers for particular shots. Can you explain which colour of rubber to use,  when and why?

Hi Tanish,

The colour of the rubber doesn't make any difference.  It is the type of difference that matters.

You will see players with different rubbers on the two sides switching during a game.

Chinese (sticky) rubbers are good at kinda grabbing the ball, so they're used a lot on FH where you can make a huge swing that basically grabs and spinlaunches the ball at the opponent. European or Japanese style rubbers are more 'bouncy', and are good at hitting things straightish.

Flipping the sides generally means they are switching from a Chinese rubber to a European/Japanese so they can smash the ball straighter and faster.
