Strokes
Hi Coach. Sometimes when playing tt, when my opponent drives a topspin, I instinctively counter it by swiping my bat vertically downward. When that return is successful, the ball no longer bounces when it hits my opponent's table. It just rolls toward the edge of the table in the direction I hit it. I don't know if what I'm doing is a technique or something, but I was hoping for info about this and how to get better at it. Thanks. :)
I hope I'm not confusing you by the description. Simply put, it kinda slides out of my opponent's side of the table if I manage to pull it off.
Hi Denzel,
It sounds like you are talking about making the Backhand Chop and the Forehand Chop. These can be good options to use. It puts backspin on the ball and that causes the ball to skid through on your opponents side.

Yeah, I know that the stroke I do will generate a backspin, but the thing is sometimes it doesn't bounce on my opponent's table. It just slides out. What I don't get is how that happens. Is it because the spin is too much it just sticks to the table until it slides out? Thanks for answering. :)
It doesn't really roll along the table but because it bounces low it will feel like it rolls.
