I saw in the place where you record your training sessions there is an option for weight training. I was just wondering how useful weight training is and is it good for all levels or just top players. What kind of training would it be ? Sorry if I've missed a video covering this.

Thanks !

#38 - Backhand 3rd Ball Attack

The backhand topspin off backspin is often considered a harder shot than the forehand. In this week's training session we focus on utilising this shot to make a 3rd ball attack. If you can master this your opponents will find it difficult to stop you attacking and you will constantly have them under pressure.

Even if you don't target specific muscles in regards to table tennis, regularĀ full body workouts will make you less injury prone and have you feeling more fit/healthy in the long run too!

I started visiting the gym on top of my table tennis practice 2,5 months ago and while I can't say there are any direct effects to my game I still feel like it's been beneficial to my condition both when behind the table and in my everyday life!

To get benefits of your gym routine, look for strenght / power routines, not bodyboulding routines which arent that benefitial.

Look at Stronglifts routine (search in google), you do squats and will get legs a lot stronger, add plyometric training and you will get more powerful movements in your footwork.
