Serving
I try to have a wide range of serves but I do not perfect any one serve that I feel is my GO TO serve. Is it better to perfect few serves so you have an ideal of what ball is coming back?
Also, I have watched your video on the Ma Lin serve. Is the grip the same on this serve as Jeff demonstrates in his lesson on the pendulum serve? Thanks
Mark
Hi Mark,
I think it is better to specialise in a couple of serves that you feel more comfortable with and know the returns that are going to come back.
The grip for the Ma Lin serve is the Pendulum serve grip but you are tilting the angle of your racket up by lifting the end of the racket to make it flat to the ground. This allows you to get right under the ball and generate the backspin.
