Am getting unwanted wrist movements while learning basic strokes.

I am a beginner.

Is there any way to control it.

While looking for the position of elbow and stance, I am lsing focus on ball and stroke.

Hi Anand,

While focusing on the wrist you can place just a little tape on the wrist that will get you to keep attention on that area while you are playing. Just leave it on for a few minutes and then see how it feels.

When learning any new skills, other areas may go backwards.  Just keep switching between focus  areas and eventually it will all come together.

This process could take days, weeks, months or years...

Perfecting the Push

This week's master class is called Perfecting the Push. To have a great push you need to first see how much backspin is on the ball as it is coming towards you. Then you need to alter your stroke to counter this backspin. You also need to concentrate on generating your own backspin to make it harder for you opponent.
