Hi Alois,

I know boosting is ILLEGAL but, I just bought a sheet of Hurricane 3 National (Blue Sponge).

I have been told that I should tune my hurricane before I stick it to my blade and play.

Any advice?

Thanks

Ben

Tone is in Your Fingers

There's is an old saying about guitar playing - tone is in your fingers. And If you've ever seen a really good guitarist play an old guitar then you'll understand how true that saying is. I know we go on a lot about this topic but it is so true. Once you've got yourself a decent bat, it's no longer up to the equipment, it's up to YOU!

I already play with a tacky rubber, Yasaka New Era, and enjoy it. However, things need to be replaced and it seems to be impossible to get this rubber in US nowadays. I want to switch to Hurricane 3 NEO that seem to be very similar to New Era. But I found a really crazy statement: "Do not try to play with them without boosting, you will get injured after a certain period of time" (see here, more in comments). Sounds really scary. What did this guy mean? And what do you think about this "slowness" of chinese rubbers compared to eurojap ones?

Very strange statement indeed.  Clearly there are a lot of players that play with Chinese rubbers without being injured.

Chinese rubbers are not necessarily slow.  They are harder but with the right action you can generate a whole lot of speed with them.
