Training
Hi Alois,
I live in an appartment so I have no space enough for a ping pong table. But I would like to know if a mini-table can help training, in which way, and what are the kind of progress it can help to develop.
Do you use it yourself sometimes ?
Best regards,
Gilbert
Hi Gilbert,
A mini table can help with improving your touch and feel for the ball. You could also set up a small table against the wall and just practice your serves into the wall bouncing first on the table.
I have never used a mini table for training but we do use the a lot in classrooms for younger students.
What should you do when you get forced back from the table? Should you just close your eyes and try and smash the ball back? Should you lob the ball back and try and stay in the point? This week in our master class we discuss your options and when to use the lob, chop or counter attack.
