Hi Nikhil,

You can do some drills such as the movement patterns for doubles just to get the feel of how you and your partner are going to move.  Playing games is a good idea.  There are so many different combinations of what can happen that you need to experience more often.  There are the combinations of who is serving and who you are serving to as well.

Focus a lot of the serve and receive possibilities.  What you are going to so with each combination.

Lobbing Tactics

If you get pushed back from the table don't just give up the point. Try and and get back into the rally. By lobbing the ball high and deep you give yourself time to get into position. If you can then get some topspin on the ball to force the smasher further away from the table then you are likely to get a weaker smash and then you can take your chance and try to counter attack!
