Strokes
Hi coach,
I have question about how to contact the ball when topspin/loop againts backspin/chop. I brush it in the highest point or wait for when it drop little bit down? Thanks for answer. Wish a nice day. ;)
Hi Thomas,
You can hit the ball in either position.
If you hit the ball at the top of the bounce you can hit it harder because you have a more direct line to the other side of the table.
If you let it drop the ball is falling and your bat is coming upwards which will add to the friction on the ball and the lift that you can get.
There are 3 basic areas to focus on when learning a stroke: 1) The position of your feet. 2) The starting position of your bat. 3) The finishing position of your bat. Of all these 3 elements the finish position is the most critical. Watch this video to find out why.
