sir i request you to give me some tips on how to hit a topspin smash or shot when the oppent has put a very steep(fast and low) backspin or chop on my side of the table.i was pretty comfortable to play this shot earlier on but now somehow my confidence has been killed because of lack of practice with extremely good players. Also i lost a table tennis tournament in the second round itself today because i my topspin returns were not perfect at all.i hope you can help.

Hi Kaustubh,

Try to get the trajectory of your stroke higher over the net.  You cna do this by having a more vertical stroke and getting a good brushing contact on it to generate a lot of topspin.

Take another look at the lesson on the Forehand Topspin Off Backspin.

Stop Coming Back to Ready Position! Do This Instead…

Most players are told to always return to the ready position after every stroke but that might be hurting your game. In this video, we reveal a smarter way to recover:

✔ Track the ball immediately after your shot
✔ Move your racket into position for the next shot instead of blindly resetting
✔ Improve your timing, balance, and flow during rallies

Whether you’re a beginner or advanced player, understanding this subtle change can have a big impact on your consistency and speed around the table.
