Tomahawk Serve leg ache

Serving

When I serve the reverse or normal tomahawk serve, I have to bend my knees like a lot of players. When I was practicing, I noticed my legs started to hurt, as eventually it got to the point where I could barely stand up. My legs still hurt a bit two days from then. Is this normal? I think it's just my muscles aching, but I wanted to ask to make sure I'm not doing something too extreme that could possibly lead to injury one day.

Hi Zack,

I often feel the same way when I squat right down to do the tomahawk serve.  I think it is probably just muscle ache, however if you are feeling it in your knees then you should probably get it checked, especially if you are young.

You are effectively doing lots of squats if you are doing this serve repetitively.
