Alois,
When a blade is made out of "wood, carbon and titanium" what is the titanium referring to?  I understand wood and synthetic carbon, but is titanium also a type of wood or does it have actual titanium metal in it?  Educate me please.

Tone is in Your Fingers

There's is an old saying about guitar playing - tone is in your fingers. And If you've ever seen a really good guitarist play an old guitar then you'll understand how true that saying is. I know we go on a lot about this topic but it is so true. Once you've got yourself a decent bat, it's no longer up to the equipment, it's up to YOU!

Titanium blade interesting...

I got some information on Google

Titanium table tennis blade are made up of 7 ply in which 5 ply are of wood and other 2 are of titanium (According to Site).I mean really titanium. Here I am talking about  Stiga Titanium Blade. They are very stiff and made for great speed. They are heavy and have less control. There are also 9 ply blade available in which 5 ply of wood and 4 ply of titanium.

Maybe this information is useful to you.

Interesting.  I guess I was trying to make sure it really was metal.  I purchased a Palio TCT which is titanium/carbon.  I was just trying to make sure.  It almost seems like it should be illegal haha.

It is legal as long as the non-wood material doesn't exceed 15%, and its thickness isn't greater than 7.5% of the total or 0.35mm max. See here under 2.04.02. I guess Palio wouldn't spend the money to put a product on the market that can't be used in competitions! cool
