Hi Alois,

  1. I am quite good in doing topspin rally when I attacked the opponent first, but i found that i'm really weak when my opponent initiate an attack with loop and hit in the third ball attempt. I want to master counter-loop and counter-hit stroke. Can u give me some suggestion how to do counter-loop and counter-hit perfectly?
  2. Can u give me some advice about when to do a counter-loop and when to do counter-hit?

Thanks

Hi ernest,

Start with the block.  Take a look at the lesson on the Backhand Block.  Then you can build from there.  Slowly add a little bit of speed and spin to the block and extend the stroke slightly.  This will improve your ability to make a more effective stroke.

Then take a look at the lessons on the Counter a Slow Spinny Topspin and the Topspin to Topspin for how to get it even better.

The more time you have the bigger and stronger the stroke you can make.  With a lot of time you ca play a full counter topspin.

Sidespin Forehand Topspin

Curve the ball past your opponent with the sidespin forehand topspin. The sidespin not only causes the ball to curve but also makes it very difficult to return.
