Strokes
Hello Sir,
It's been a long time since I played table tennis, Now Im back on action...Joined a club so that I could practice everyday..U both have been of great help to me from the beginning ..I really appreciate your effort!! Thanks a lot :)
Now coming to my question, I’m having a confusion regarding the Hand movement while top spinning/Looping . I'm not able to understand how much of forward moment and how much of vertical movement (Lifting up) is necessary. It would be great if you could help me with that.
Thank you in advance :)
Hi Harikrishnan,
Firstly, thanks for the kind words. I am glad we have been able to help.
For the forehand topspin, focus on the start and finish positions of your bat that we show you in the lesson on the Forehand Topspin Against Block. If you do that then you will get the stroke pretty right.
How is it that a player can always seem to get back those extremely fast topspins? Is it their incredible anticipation? The key to good anticipation actually lies in tracking the ball well. When you watch the ball closely your peripheral vision will pick up your opponents movements and with lots of practice those signs will help you anticipate what your opponent is going to do. This happens naturally with lots of experience. So it it your job to ensure that you are tracking the ball really carefully.
