The ideal bat for penholder

I use the penhold grip and am wondering whether it's necessary to use a penholder bat.

Hi Shamil,
It isn't necesasary to use a penholder bat but it probably will feel more comfortable for you. There are two types of penhold handle, the Japanese type handle with a larger rectangular block on the handle and a rectangular shape head and the Chinese type handle which is more like the shakehand handle but shorter.
Try them out and see what feels more comfortable for you.

Do you need a penhold bat to be a penholder? becuase i have a shakehand bat but i play penhold do i buy a penhold bat or stick with the shakehand one?

You can stick with the shakehand bat if fit feels comfortable enough for you.
