Hello,

I'm an intermediate player and I mainly play defensive with the occasional f/h topspin/smash. I am keen on learning to play b/h using long pips and have finally narrowed down to Yasaka Phantom 007.

I am hoping you can guide me in selecting the blade that primarily offers great control and good speed for f/h offensive play.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi Abhishek,

I don’t have a blade in particular but get something that is all round rated.  The PingSkills Touch would be OK but they are out of stock till next month (June ’15).

Choosing a Table Tennis Bat

Make sure you buy a table tennis bat that is suitable for your level and allows you to develop your technique. For your first bat we recommend the PingSkills Rook, and when you upgrade to a custom bat we recommend the PingSkills Touch with Mark V or Rakza 7.

Hi Alois,

Thank you for your response. After reading several reviews, I've opted for the Tibhar Stratus Power Wood with Mark V (2.0) on f/h and Phantom 007 (without sponge) on b/h.
