Hi Alois,

I was in many situations that I'am leading in set 10:8(an it's my serve),and in that kind position i really don't know what to serve.  Especially I mean those close tight matches when player's simply don't know what to play(frustration,scared...etc.)
So my question is what should I do in that situations? Could you please tell me some recipe for assured points?

Thanks,
Miodrag

Hi Miodrag,

In a tight situation I think it is best to serve your best serve, one that you are comfortable with.  Don't look for a cheap point but rather think about how you have been winning points to get you to 10 - 8 and try to repeat the process.  There is nothing assured about each point but you should put the odds in your favour by doing the things that have worked in the past rather than trying something that hasn't been proven.

Tactics Against A Defensive Chopper

A chopper likes to get back from the table and get into a nice rhythm. If you keep the defender close to the table in the early part of the rally, it's hard for them to transition back into their chopping position. So keep the ball short on your serve and try and catch them unprepared. Watch the video to find out more great tactics to use against a defensive chopper.
