Strategy
Hi so you already gave me the answer If i am a tall Player i should stay around Close to mid and taking the ball on the highest bounce and also sometimes adjusting to come Close in. My question is in what exact Situations its better for me to come in Closer to the table and Play my Topspins in from there because what i do notice Is that If a ball IS coming Higher than net height and slow to really get full Speed Here IS difficult for me because mostly i either MIS Hit the ball or it comes Back with much less Speed. So can i really maybe give me ad rule of thumb that If my opponent Is blocking by Just Holding His bat in that i should stay best Close to the table because also i do notice that my opponents are often blocking half Long and i dont even notice that because i am Just used to it to stay in 1 Spot and that i either Miss Hit the ball from Close to mid If its slow and medium height half Long or Long. So generelly can i say to myself my opponent Is blocking normally and i should move Close to the table to get better Speed in my topspins and from there i should only retreat Back to Close to mid If my opponent really plays fast in?
Hi Gabriel,
Each situation is different so you need to be adaptable to each situation. That is why you should not have a rule that you stick with.
Think about what is working for you against each opponent. If you want to play faster and give your opponent less time, hit the ball earlier or if you want to play a little slower to slow down their rhythm, then take the ball a little later.
One really important part of developing your game is learning to adjust your tactics.
