Hi alois! I have an interesting problem for you

I have a friend who i usually play with.

When we are practicing, i think i have a better strike and shot, and he almost never give me a good shoot except if i give a really lobbed ball

But, when we count the scores, i almost never win. Maybe my win percentage is about 15 percent.

I think it was because even if he was in a big trouble (usually when he must run to get the ball) he still can control the ball. Altough his ball is lobbed and when i give a chop or smash, he still can recieve it. And usually after i strike i have to take a little bit of time to get back to my recieving position, and sometimes i was late and he give a slow but accurate ball. And the result, he get the point -_-"

The problem is not always like that, when i strike for a lot of times in a row, but he still can put the ball onto the table again, and when i make a little mistakes, the ball goes out or hit the net. I have try your suggestion about changing the direction or give a different kind of strike but it doesn't really works, too. Like what i had tell above

So, i need a good strategy to crush his block, i'm sure you know i have to do

Oh ya, he uses shakehand and i uses penhold, his weakness is returning a spinny ball

I am quite good at sidespin, as long as i am on the good condition (offensive) and the ball i recieve is not to fast

Hi Kevin,

Sounds like he is a good player with good control.

First, try to develop your control of the ball.

Then in the match try to make more spin if that is what he doesn’t like.  Use a lot of topspin and give yourself more margin over the net to make the stroke safer.
