Hello PingSkills my name is Guy and I am from israel and I have just joined for free to your website.

I have a question about the height of the arm in the starting position. What is the most effective height of the arme for being ready for the ball so i can hit the ball as low as possible. Should my arm be at the same height of the table?, below the table?, above the table?........

Wating for your respond, Guy.

Hi Guy,

At the start of your basic strokes it is best to start at around hip height.  If you look through our lessons on the Strokes & Techniques page we show you the start position for each stroke.  This is an important part of the stroke.

So every stroke has its own start position? It must be very difficult to remember every start position during a match....at great intensity....

It is not something that you have to consciously remember because you practice the strokes repetitively till they become automatic for you.
