Hello coach, between spinning and hitting ball which is more safe or important in table tennis competitions.

Hi Raymond,
They both have their importance but if you put topspin on the ball you will have more safety in your shots and be able to hit the ball on the table with more speed consistently.

Crossover Footwork
When you need to reach that really wide ball the regular shuffle step just won't get you there in time so you need to use the crossover step. This is essentially a running action to get you to the ball as fast as possible.
