As iam a basic table tennis player I've watched many games the service action you are doing is all same but the ball have many variation in spin like backspin, topspin etc.  So how you are able to implement all this spin services with the same action?  and give me some techniques to improve service action.

Hi Daniel,

This is a key part of developing your serves.

First it is important to develop the ability to generate a lot of spin on the ball.  Then develop the ability to generate a different spin.  Thirdly you then need to have a similar action for both of these serves.  If you can have a similar start and finish position then you will start to have  serve that will be deceptive to your opponent.

Take a look through what is available in our Serving Secrets section.  In there yo will find a whole lot of tutorial that will help you develop from the basic through to having advanced serves with deception.

The Kicker Serve

The kicker serve is one of our "must learn" serves. It's fast, fun, and has lots of topspin. It can be dangerous because if it's not fast enough and if you don't surprise your opponent then they may be able to attack it forcefully putting you on the defensive straight away. Used well though, and sparingly, it can be a great weapon. It can win you a point outright and it will stop your opponent from standing over the table waiting for your short serves since they need to be ready for anything.

You basically have to ways to make different spins in the same motion: semi circular movements and opposing movements (where one of them is fake)
