What is actually a trick to create more spin in our serves and strokes? What would be the arm tension in the pre-contact with the ball, contact with the ball and follow through? Many thanks.

Hi JinMeng,

There are no real tricks.  It is a matter of a lot of practice.  The key is to get the contact correct, with a good brushing contact on the ball and then a fast action to get more spin on it.

You can have your arm relaxed through the swing.  Get your wrist moving as quickly as possible.  At the point of contact you can put a little more pressure on your fingers.

Thank you very much. Can I ask how do you have a electric fast serve with little spin? What's the contact like? But the action looks like a forehand pendulum.

You need a very flat contact for this so that the ball travels really fast.  It of course becomes a more risky serve though.

Thank you. But how do I generate the energy and power and not put spin on the ball since the forehand pendulum requires a swinging down energy?

You just swing through the same way but on the contact flatten out your bat.  YOu have to try this many times to get the feeling of it.  Try getting out on the table first and see how it goes.  Let me know about your progress once you have tried it.

Thank you. I have actually tried it, but it does not look like a pendulum serve. Do you mean flat as open up the angle? But when you have the swinging action downwards, wouldn't that definitely inpart side spin or some form of spin? Really sorry and many thanks.

You bring your bat flat through like you are serving a flat fast serve.  It doesn't have to have any side spin n it if you get the contact right.
