Hi Alois,
1. You said that long pimple rubber will reverse the spin. So if i give a lot of topspin the ball will be back with more backspin ?
2. If someone use inverted rubber to chopping, how much the amount of the backspin will be returned if I do a lot of topspin ? will it be lesser or more ?
Thanks
Hi Ernest,
With inverted rubber, they can control the amount of spin because of the friction on the rubber. So they can give you back a lot or a little spin, depending on the angle of contact of their bat and the amount they brush the ball.
When playing penhold players it is important to remember to first analyse your opponent as you would if they used any grip. What are their strengths and weaknesses? A common weakness of penhold players is their forehand block especially against a slow spinny topspin. Their backhand may be a weakness if they use the traditional style, or you may wish to explore the crossover point if they are using the reverse penhold backhand.
