When i play against my friends i always have a chance for an easy spike and they always return my topspin spikes so is it good to spike with side spin?

Hi Tmoney,

I think it is best to smash flat.  If you contact the ball flat you will get the best speed.

If you try to put sidepsin, you will have more chance of making a mistake.  When the ball is that high, then you have a very good chance of winning the point.  There is no need to take too many risks.

Take a look at our lesson on the Forehand Smash.  This may also help.

Most players are told to always return to the ready position after every stroke but that might be hurting your game. In this video, we reveal a smarter way to recover:

✔ Track the ball immediately after your shot
✔ Move your racket into position for the next shot instead of blindly resetting
✔ Improve your timing, balance, and flow during rallies

Whether you’re a beginner or advanced player, understanding this subtle change can have a big impact on your consistency and speed around the table.

Ah...OK

And-when we are talking about a sidespin smash, what ball is easiest to smash with sidespin?
(long/short,mid-height(shoulder level)/high(above head),flat/top/chop/sidespin etc.) ?

And Also-how to make a reverse sidespin smash?
(I mean-clockwise sidespin from  a righthander)
