Speed vs. Spin vs. Placement

When you are attacking, which do you think is the best choice to use: Speed, Spin or Placement or a combination of any.

Hi Mitch,

Definitely a combination of all of these is what is required to win points.

Remember also that with Spin and Speed more is not always better.  Often it is the slower ball or the ball with less spin as a variation that can draw the mistake.

I completely agree with Alois.

I generally have confidence defending fast drives/smashes, but the job becomes a hundred times more difficult if your opponent varies the pace of the ball and doesn't hit with maximum power every time.  Often an off-speed drive finds me committing to a shot too early.

And when chopping-until I learn how to combine,is it better to send a higher high-spin ball,or rely on height reducing and send a nospin low ball?
