How to you do this serve

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kmQDjFfxrGM (1:41second mark)

He contacts the ball on the side and makes it curve fast and low on the table.

When i try it, i cant always properly contact the ball, and when i do, it usually doesnt have  much forward momentum, and the serve is slow, high and doest curve much. Help!!!

Hi Sally,

Sounds like you are working on your serves a bit which is great.

You just need to keep focusing on brushing the ball on the side.  It will take a lot of effort and time to get it right.  The contact is important.

Try starting off by moving your bat "more forward and into the ball" to at least get some sort of contact.  From there, just work on making a faster more brushing contact to replicate that sidespin serve.  Good luck!
