Short serve with heavy sidespin

Serving

Hi Alois and Jeff! How do you serve short with heavy sidespin? When I do the pendulum serve and get a lot of sidespin, I also get a lot of speed and the ball only bounces once on the table. I know it's a matter of just brushing better, but I find the brushing from the side to be more difficult then the brushing underneath the ball. Any tips?

Hi Robin,

Interesting.  I think it is a matter of just brushing finer.  Perhaps also try to get the bat coming in towards you rather than forward to have less forward momentum.

Let me know if that helps or not.
