I have recently changed my backhand to short pips out.

Hitting close to the table is fine but blocking angles needs to improve.

Any tips

Hi Robert,

Getting the feel of the pimples against a topspin ball can be difficult especially when it is coming to you at an angle or you want to angle the ball.  This is because it has a different amount of grip to an inverted rubber and can feel like it is slipping off the pimple sidewards.

It is a matter of getting used to the different amount of grip on the pimples by doing a lot of strokes with them and especially when you are wanting to change the direction of the ball.
