Serves down the line

Serving

Hi Alois/Jeff

My short backspin serve and is curving and after the second bounce it reaches the backhand of my opponent.

Same is the case for short sidespin serve also (Myself and my opponent are right handers).

But sometimes, for variation I wish that these serves should meet my opponent's forehand.

Is there any way to get these serves to his forehand?

Thanks & Regards

Hi Balaji,

To change direction just use a slight variation in the angle of your wrist.  You can also do it by hitting the ball when it is slightly closer to the table.  The best way to focus on this is to do some serve practice.  Put a target on the table where you want to the ball to land.  You don't even have to make conscious decisions about your wrist, it will just start to happen.

GIve it a try and let me know how it goes.
