Rubbers for Carbon Blades and Wooden blades

Equipment

Dear coach,

I am an intermediate level player train 4 times a week. I am getting Yinhe  Wooden blade (5 layers) and Yinhe carbon blade (5+2 layers). The idea is to train with a wooden blade where I can learn the strokes and have a better feel for the ball. Then I plan to switch over to carbon blade when I am able to hit the shots consistently and perfectly.

What I know already:

- My carbon blade is 16g lighter than my wooden blade.

- Based on the literature available online, I should put Medium to Medium hard rubber on my carbon blade. So I am going for Andro Rasant Turbo on Forehand and Rakza 7 soft on the Backhand for the carbon blade.

Question:

Can I use the same setup on my wooden blade too? The advantage is that I will need less adjustments when switching over to carbon blades since the rubber setups are the same.

Thanks and best rgds,

Vijay

Hi Vijay,

Don't get too hooked up with the equipment.  I would use one blade and one set of rubbers.  I would stay with the same rubbers on both blades as this will make them as similar as possible.

Tone is in Your Fingers

There's is an old saying about guitar playing - tone is in your fingers. And If you've ever seen a really good guitarist play an old guitar then you'll understand how true that saying is. I know we go on a lot about this topic but it is so true. Once you've got yourself a decent bat, it's no longer up to the equipment, it's up to YOU!
