Equipment
I recently bought a new rubber for my bat (Stiga Calibra Tour) and I am thinking it may be too fast for me. When I play my loops and drives, the ball frequently goes off the table. What can I do to stop this happening?
Hi Ben,
Keep practicing with it for a couple of weeks. Play slowly to start with to allow yourself to get used to the pace. Make sure you focus on playing your strokes correctly as well. You may also need to just turn the angle of your racket down slightly.
There's is an old saying about guitar playing - tone is in your fingers. And If you've ever seen a really good guitarist play an old guitar then you'll understand how true that saying is. I know we go on a lot about this topic but it is so true. Once you've got yourself a decent bat, it's no longer up to the equipment, it's up to YOU!
